About Us

Our Society was founded in 1965.   To join us all you need is an interest in things mechanical.  We have members interested in building Clocks, Sun Dials, Hot air engines, Traction Engines,  &  Live Steam Locomotives of all sizes.  Among our members is a vast range of experience which is available to help anyone with problems.

At our Club premises at The White Horse Country Park, Westbury  we have a permanent raised 5″ & 31/2” track and a permanent raised track for garden gauges – two circuits of 32mm gauge and one of 45mm gauge which can also have track power. We have just completed a ground level 5″ gauge line and are currently building a new scenic 32mm gauge garden line. See the News pages for current updates.

We also have a 5″ portable  track, which  is used for fetes & events in the area (see the Hire Us page above) and a portable 16mm scale, 32mm & 45mm gauge track, which is used for running indoors during the winter and at various exhibitions.

If  you have just bought or inherited  a model, or assembled it from a kit we can help you get it into working order and show you how to operate it.  Members can have their boilers tested to the latest regulations for no cost by one of our three registered testers.
